Jean looking for a Scott to RP with [22 Jan 2014|12:06am]

hisnightchilde
Hi everyone!

I've been a fan of Scott and Jean since I was five (I'm 27 now and have been RPing since I was 12), but this is not spam, so please, do read on.

I'm about to join a RPG forum as Jean (and you know how hard it is to find either her or Scott's spot open). The thing is they're in dire need of a Scott as well and I was wondering if you'd be interested in joining to play him across my Jeannie.
That's all for now. Nice to meet you all ^.^

Halle Berry, James Marsden And More Wanted To Return For X-Men: Days Of Future Past [05 Dec 2012|08:43pm]

weber_dubois22

There are technically three separate parts of the X-Men franchise universe as established by 20th Century Fox. The first part is the original trilogy, X-Men to X-Men: The Last Stand; then there is the Wolverine movies, which have so far included X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the upcoming The Wolverine; and most recently there was X-Men: First Class. While the sequel to the final title, the in-development X-Men: Days of Future Past, promises to be just that - bringing back James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult for a new go-round as Professor X, Magneto, Mystique and Beast. But what makes that particular project truly interesting is that it will also serve to bring all the parts of the X-Men universe together.

James Marsden Wants to Do A Cyclops Spin-off [23 Dec 2011|06:30pm]

weber_dubois22

After X-Men: The Last Stand broke box office records, the original plan was to start a series of prequels focusing on individual characters. We got the aggressively mediocre Wolverine movie, and the planned Magneto spin-off eventually turned into the fantastic X-Men: First Class. Both were successful financially, so it's no surprise that direct sequels to both of them are currently in the works. But, James Marsden, the actor who plays Cyclops has gone on record as saying that he wants to see a spin-off focusing on the character. He might be the only one who does.

20TH Century FOX considering 'First Class' sequel (Surprise, Surprise) [06 Jul 2011|06:04pm]

weber_dubois22
In a summer that's been jam-packed full of comic book movies, X-Men: First Class was an incredibly pleasant surprise, both critically and financially. As a result, it should come as no surprise to anyone that Fox is actively considering a sequel for the film.

According to The Geek Files: We've learned that the studio is "discussing sequels internally."

While there is not yet any formal announcement of a follow-up, it does show interest in continuing First Class rather than leaving it as a standalone origin tale. [SOURCE]

Is it a vain hope that Cyclops (Storm and Jean) actually appears in this one and given a sizable role? ...Okay, yeah, it probably is.

The splitting aftermath of "Uncanny X-Men"'s cancellation [17 Jun 2011|02:25pm]

[ mood | thirsty ]

In light of "Uncanny X-Men"'s impending cancellation, Marvel will soon be splitting the series into two new titles. The first title will be a "Uncanny" reboot/renumbering and the second title will be "Wolverine & The X-Men." (X-Men fans, of course, will recall the latter sharing the title with the long-canceled Nicktoons animated series.) For Cyclops' fans, he'll be in the "Uncanny" title, since Wolverine will obviously be in the other title. Time and future updates will tell on the rest. Details within link. Uncanny X-Men canceled at issue # 544 [13 Jun 2011|05:52pm]

dark_weezing
[ mood | shocked ]

(My first entry. For a micro-synopsis of myself, I am an X-Men Evolution fanboy who has been branching out to other aspects of X-Men media. My fan fondness of Cyclops started with Evolution, and I am becoming re-familiar with or re-appreciating the character. In terms of X-Men fandom, I mostly hang out at the scottandrogue Livejournal community. I hope to expand my horizons with one of Marvel's best and under-appreciated characters. I didn't want my first entry to be a negative one, but its Cyclops-centric nature should ease some of the pain.)

Apparently, Marvel's long-running "Uncanny X-Men" title is now canceled, the final issue being # 544. The Associated Press, via USA Today, explores the matter and Cyclops' rather expansive role in recent story arcs within. (For obvious reasons, beware comic spoilers.) Time will tell if Marvel will end up rebooting and re-numbering the series, as it was done with Spider-Man, Thor and others. (Ironically or not, they were eventually returned to their original series numbers in the past several years.)

I'll leave the matter open for everyone else to figure, while I go and form my own thoughts. Nevertheless, it is a regrettable loss. Special thanks to the Four Color Media Monitor blog.

X-Men: First Class Plot Details - No Cyclops or Jean? [18 Jan 2011|01:08am]

weber_dubois22

For months the plot of X-Men: First Class has been a bit of a mystery. Sure, we know that it deals with the friendship between Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Eric Lehnsherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender), but nothing about the X-Men team themselves. The good news is that we've finally gotten a little bit of details about the Matthew Vaughn film's story thanks to AICN's recent phone interview with First Class producer and director of the first two X-Men films, Bryan Singer.

You may want to sit down before you continue reading. Oh, right, you are.

Random Rant: I can't believe that almost happened... [20 Aug 2010|07:34pm]

weber_dubois22

Ever since discovering a script of X-Men online and discovering that Cyclops and Storm actually had little "origin" sequences of their own, I always wondered why they never filmed either, but then began to suspect it either had to do with budgetary reasons or concerns about the flow of the movie's storyline. Of course, yesterday, I finally got around to listening to both Audio Commentaries on X2: X-Men United and I can't remember which AC it was from, but when I heard that the public restroom they used in the Mystique/Laurio sequence was originally going to be used for Scott's "Prom Incident" I totally wigged out.

That close to filming it, then they changed it because they figured Mystique would not do Mr. Laurio in his trailer. I absolutely I hate hearing things like this, because it always drives me crazy how close one idea became a reality then changed because of something else.

And this was totally random rant.

PS: What happened to the Red background?

Former 'X-Men' actor's Kids not Impressed by his hero roles [28 Jul 2010|11:50pm]

weber_dubois22

James Marsden played Cyclops in X-Men, the mutant who shoots laser out of his eyes. That didn’t earn him any cred with his older child. Maybe he can impress his youngest as the voice of the dog in Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.

“They’re sort of over it now,” Marsden said. “The whole thing’s been demystified for them. I have a four-year-old daughter and a nine-year-old son. What’s really interesting is when my son was about that age, I got excited because I thought, ‘Oh, they’re going to get to see their dad in this film. You forget that a child’s mind at that age, that what they’re seeing on screen is real to them. They don’t see the manipulation. They don’t see the smoke and mirrors, the Hollywood. It’s very real. So I remember thinking, ‘Oh, they’re going to love this. It’s going to be great.’ My son when he was that age was sort of freaked out by it.”
